Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy Remote
The Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, a group psychology private practice in East Brunswick, NJ, is looking to hire a licensed psychologist or post doctoral fellow (post doc) to join our team.
Overview
We are a passionate group of psychologists dedicated to providing personalized, research-supported clinical services for children, adolescents, and families with a range of social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. We also partner with schools and organizations to provide consultations, professional development workshops, and clinical services. As a young and rapidly expanding practice, we are excited about cutting edge research and treatment options, as well as utilizing technology to make our work easier. We prioritize the health and happiness of our team members with a fun work environment, sound work-life balance, and great benefits.
CBT Position
Clinical responsibilities include providing CBT to youth and families within the candidate’s areas of specialization. Experience providing individual CBT with adults is a plus. There are also opportunities to provide workshops for professionals and members of the community, and to write clinically-related blog articles published on our website. The clinician will attend weekly “Think Tank” staff meetings to collaborate with colleagues and contribute ideas for program development. Candidates whose areas of specialization align with or expand on our current services are encouraged to apply. We currently have staff with expertise in anxiety disorders, Tourette syndrome, trichotillomania, disruptive behavior disorders, autism spectrum disorders, depression, trauma, borderline personality disorder, neuropsychological testing, and school-based consultation. We also have an adherent DBT Program for Adolescents (DBT-A) and Children (DBT-C).
Mixed CBT/DBT Position
Clinical responsibilities will be split between DBT and CBT cases. The candidate will see cases in our comprehensive DBT Program for Adolescents (DBT-A), and can additionally see cases within our DBT programs for young adults (DBT-YA) and for children and families (DBT-CF), depending on expertise and interest. Comprehensive DBT responsibilities include providing individual therapy, leading/co-leading multi-family skills group (or individual family skills), phone coaching, parent sessions, and attending consultation team. The number of comprehensive DBT cases that the clinician will carry is flexible and can change over time based on clinician preference and limits.
CBT cases include youth (and some adults) with anxiety and OCD, ADHD and disruptive behavior, Tourette syndrome and tics, trichotillomania, depression, feeding disorders, and autism. These cases are assigned based on the candidate’s experience and areas of passion. There are also opportunities, if desired, to present workshops for professionals and in the community, as well as to write clinically-relevant articles for our blog. There are possible opportunities for leadership roles based on experience and/or growth within the organization.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this position is a vibrant and dynamic clinician, eager to help children, teens, and families, and skilled in using evidence-based treatment techniques. The candidate is excited to work in a collaborative environment as a key member of the team, develop their niche within the practice, provide consultation/supervision to colleagues and trainees, and work alongside experienced psychologists who are experts in their respective specialties. The candidate will meet with our practice director regularly to ensure that they see the cases they are passionate about and has the schedule and volume of cases that works for them.
Benefits
The position includes competitive compensation as a W-2 employee, participation in our 401K program with employer match, malpractice insurance, vacation when you want, flexible hours, admin support, and minimal paperwork. Supervision/consultation is provided post docs and licensed psychologists, and maintained for as long as it is beneficial. We provide a professional development stipend to encourage our clinicians to stay current with evidence-based practices so we can best help the clients we serve and assist with license-related fees. Hybrid or in-person model; possibly remote only.
There is an immediate need, although the start date is flexible (ideally during 2023) for the right candidate. Interested candidates should email a CV and a cover letter describing your ideal job, clinical interests, and current/previous relevant experiences.
