About Pine Ridge Facility:

The 45 bed Pine Ridge Hospital, serving a Lakota Indian population of more than 17,000, is the largest in the Great Plains Area. A 16 physician staff sees medical, obstetrical, pediatric, and surgical patients. The facility located in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, includes full service general surgery, an obstetrical ward, and dental. Kyle and Wanblee Health Centers and two health stations (Manderson and Lacreek ) operate within the Pine Ridge Service Unit.

Certified Nurse Midwife Job Details:

• Locations: Pine Ridge, South Dakota
• Pay: $80/Hour, On-Call: $10.00/hour Callback/OT: $80.00/hour
• Hours: 8a-430p or 8a-630p
• Call: Weeknight (430p-8a, 630p-8a) and Weekend (8a-8p, 8p-8a)
• Call rotation: 1:4
• Travel Stipend Available

Certified Nurse Midwife Job Description:

• Management of intrapartum period for normal and high-risk mothers; provide health care for newborns; provides women’s health care and adult/adolescent sexual assault forensic exams (SAFE) related to sexual assault, educate, counsel, and advise patients on all aspects of the reproductive cycle and related psychosocial issues;
• Provides on call & consultative Midwifery services. On call services include Labor and Delivery, care of the postpartum patient, emergent women’s health issues, and sexual assault examinations.
• Routine duties shall include providing maternal health care services.
• Knowledge of nurse-midwifery and medical management practices in caring for well-women, mothers and newborns and patients affected by sexual assault throughout the lifespan.
• Knowledge of frequently used drugs including normal dosage, administration, action, adverse effects and ability to perform and interpret specified laboratory tests.
• Ability to teach, counsel and facilitate participation throughout the lifespan.
• Ability to utilize, implement and supervise electronic data collection equipment; to interpret and apply the informational output in managing care.

Certified Nurse Midwife Requirements:

• Current Board Certified Nurse Midwife
• BLS and ACLS
• DEA
• NRP
