Chemist – Entry Level (Remote Possible) Job at SRC, Inc.
SRC is currently seeking an entry-level chemist for a non-laboratory position in our Syracuse, NY office (or remote). This scientist will review chemistry and environmental fate data and contribute to the development of hazard characterizations, risk assessments, and related reports in our Environmental Health Analysis business area. This is an office-based position that will support various programs for the United States Environmental Protection Agency and related agencies. Responsibilities:
- Extract and summarize information from scientific studies on properties, uses and environmental effects of chemicals
- Identify technical information, including product chemistry, reactivity, environmental effects, regulatory history or other attributes of chemicals in commerce.
- Assess reliability of scientific data
- Populate information systems with data related to the properties and environmental effects of chemicals
- Interact closely with other SRC scientists and SRC's clients
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry
- Demonstrated technical writing skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with others as part of a project team
- Course work or experience in environmental chemistry, environmental science is desirable
- Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and resume in initial application, transcripts and at least one writing sample will be requested and required from candidates who reach the interview stage
Expected Salary Range: $52,000 - $64,000
