Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Job Summary:
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Information Officer is responsible for ensuring the effective operation of the Management Information Systems, (MIS) department, including all Company IT processes and procedures, by providing both hands-on technical support as well as supervision and coordination of all Corporate MIS support staff members ensuring that MIS/IT support staff demonstrate high levels of customer service. Remains current on emerging IT/MIS/Technology and data security trends and provides insights and recommendations to the leadership team.

IT Infrastructure:

Will manage, develop, implement, and administer an infrastructure and service environment that meets or exceeds compliance standards and complies with security guidelines and risk management programs. Working collaboratively with various Management teams and vendors will provide budgetary input, human resource requirements, and strategic planning input for the implementation of company IT needs.

Security and network protection in accord with Department of Defense requirements:

Familiarity with Department of Defense security requirements. DFARS Clause 252.204-7012,

NIST 800-171, Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) and Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS)

Responsible for all cybersecurity features, such as protecting personal information, login information, and passwords. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of all security features, such as firewalls, software patches, anti-virus software, and deal with any cyber breaches. Responsible for defending the network systems against unauthorized access, modification, and/or destruction. Scanning and assessing network for vulnerabilities monitoring network traffic for unusual activity. Implementing network security policies, application security, access control, and corporate data safeguards.

Analyze and report on the status of the organization’s security systems and address potential future threats.

Network Support:

Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN) Monitoring, troubleshooting, and administering of VPN Devices, Routers, Switches, and other network devices as well as administering network servers, Firewalls, Proxy Servers, Mail Gateways, Anti-spam/Anti-Virus Appliance and managing the wide and local area voice and data network by securing access to resources, maintaining equipment and monitoring network performance.

Practical/hands-on experience in LAN/WAN environment and in administering and supporting Windows, Microsoft Office, Office 365 deployment and support, Windows Server, Exchange servers, Active Directory, TCP/IP protocols, routed and switched networks, wireless networks, firewalls and web server platforms, including IIS, SharePoint.

Developing and updating business continuity and disaster recovery protocols.

Additionally, this role is responsible for working with leadership and scheduling, preparing agenda and participating in Team Meetings to define implement and maintain company technology infrastructure.

Desktop Support:

Hands-on troubleshooting of all company computer and office technology including desktop and laptop computers, printers, and peripherals.

Maintain Company Phone Systems:

Common technical support duties include ensuring server uptime, phone system infrastructure, implementation, and operation, supporting end users with applications and programs required to complete their daily task, troubleshooting and installing printers/copiers, diagnosing hardware and software malfunctions, troubleshooting problems, disaster recovery plan, replacing hardware and installing new software on staff machines and employees.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Department of Defense security requirements. DFARS Clause 252.204-7012
  • NIST 800-171, Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC)
  • Support of migration to and maintenance of Office 365 with Teams
  • Strong analytical, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be customer service oriented.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations diplomatically
  • Ability to convey complex concepts accurately and succinctly to distinctly different audiences.
  • Displays high level of motivation, initiative, and self-discipline.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership experience in IT support environments and project management of mission-critical systems, including the ability to prioritize and execute tasks.

Experience must include:

  • CMMC implementation and compliance
  • Implementation and maintenance of cloud migration
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense security requirements
  • Implementation and maintenance of companywide phone systems

Education:

  • Min 10 Years’ Experience required. 5 years with a government contractor strongly preferred. 5 Years in a leadership role preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field, Master's Degree preferred.
  • Candidates with network, security, helpdesk-related certifications, Microsoft certification(s) preferred.
