In addition to our robust benefits package, the hiring range for this position is ($90,000 - $150,000). While this is the targeted range, final offer amounts will depend on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s geographic location, prior relevant experience, and their knowledge, skills, and abilities. - Interact professionally and timely with clients and associates at all levels via email, phone, and in-person
- Perform functions of the role within an IMA office 0-50% of the time
- Direct the activities of your Claim team members in the management and advocacy of claims on behalf of clients
- Act as a thought-leader and collaborate with Managing Director and other managers on department-wide initiatives
- Develop and implement processes and protocols for Claim support and scalability
- Direct the activities of the Workers’ Compensation Care Coordinator team members in the processing, monitoring, management and advocacy of claims
- Direct the activities of the Claim Central team members in the intake, management and completion of delegated activities
- Manage associates including performance review, hiring and placement, resolving customer complaints and salary and budget planning
- Contribute to hiring and development of staff members and identify areas for improvement or growth
- Review and assign matter advocacy and accounts to appropriate staff to ensure balanced workloads and optimal outcomes
- Communicate effectively with other departments to lead change and support initiatives across the enterprise
- Demonstrate superior technical insurance and business acumen
- Demonstrate exceptional leadership characteristics
- Develop and maintain excellent problem-solving skills
- Maintain a proactive approach focusing on claim resolutions and strategies for assigned accounts and matters
- Communicate pertinent claim information on a timely basis to internal and external clients
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients
- Participate in presentations, including new business, RFPs (clients, TPAs), claim reviews, renewals, etc.
- Develop strong working knowledge of IMA and carrier computer systems/programs
- Keep abreast of legal and claim issues
- Attend insurance related seminars including but not limited to continuing education classes
- At least 10 years of prior Claim experience
- 5+ years of prior supervisory or leadership experience
- Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalent to a college degree
- Systems skills – Applied Epic, Carrier websites
- Experience with MS Office products (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Exceptional technical skill and knowledge of coverage and claims handling
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Required: strong mathematical and reasoning skills
- Ability to discuss and solve claim problems with clients and insurance carriers
