OAK HILL SCHOOL POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Cleaning Technician

Grades: PreK through 8

Location: Oak Hill School, Eugene, OR

Schedule: To be determined by the Facilities Director

Reports to: Facilities Director

Appointment Type: 1.0 FTE non-exempt – 12-month contract evaluated for renewal annually

The Cleaning Technician will clean and maintain the school or other educational facility.

Major Position Responsibilities

· Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in the classrooms and common areas of the buildings.

· Performs minor repairs and maintenance such as replacing light fixtures or unclogging pipes.

· Assists in cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, gym, and kitchen facilities.

· Performs limited grounds maintenance such as mowing and trimming lawns and hedges and cleaning snow from sidewalks.

· Ensures heating and cooling systems are operational.

· Maintains a neat and orderly janitors’ room; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.

· Washes windows.

· Assists in examining school for safety hazards; reports deficiencies to the Director of

Facilities or the Co-Head of School for Finance and Operations.

Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience Required.

● Proven ability to keep the school clean and orderly.

● Proven ability to interact with staff, students, parents, and visitors at school while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.

● Personal Protective Equipment: Ability to use protective equipment required to perform job tasks as needed and as required by health and safety guidelines.

● This job is considered safety sensitive, a drug screen test, and ability to pass a criminal background check may be required prior to employment.

● Employees at Oak Hill School must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as defined by the Oregon
Health Authority per Oregon Department of Education guidelines and Oregon State Law.

● High school diploma or equivalent required.

Working Environment:

This position may be required to lift to 20lbs.

Physical demands include dexterity of office machine/supply operation including computer/telephone, copy machine and printers. Stooping, bending, and reaching for files or supplies required. Sitting or standing for extended periods of time are common.

This position is required to work on-site; the duties of the position cannot be fully completed via remote work.
