Your Role at Gentle Dentistry

The Clinical Dental Assistant position is responsible for helping clinicians to turn over rooms, keeping sterilization current, helping to assist doctors when absolutely necessary, housekeeping and other tasks necessary to ensure a positive, professional work environment. Job duties could include, but are not limited to the following:

• Check to ensure that dental units are ready, stocked, and clean at all times
• Oversee cleanliness of the treatment room according to sterilization procedures
• Properly discard all disposal items from each visit
• Disinfect treatment rooms according to OSHA infection control regulations
• Assemble solid instruments and place in sterilization area
• Organize trays, instruments, and treatment room drawers at all times
• Pre-soak solid instruments in a disinfectant
• Ensure that office sterilization procedures document is on display
• Send out promptly and monitor all spore tests
• Sort and package instruments for proper sterilization
• Follow all preventive maintenance/cleaning schedules for dental equipment
• Load, activate, and vent the sterilization unit according to manufactures direction
• Maintain dental office emergency kits and nitrous and oxygen tanks
• Follow laboratory procedures according to office protocol

Job Requirements

The Clinical Dental Assistant is an entry level opportunity and does not require a dental assisting license or certificate. The following describes Gentle Dentistry’s ideal candidate:

• Excellent computer skills for charting and helping out at the front desk
• Excellent interpersonal skills and good communication with patients and staff
• Enthusiastic and friendly team oriented attitude
• Open to feedback, accepts constructive criticism easily, and makes changes easily and professionally based on constructive criticism
• Willingness to go above and beyond what is expected and take on extra tasks to help the clinical team as needed

Compensation

Market-based compensation. We also offer medical, dental, vision, 401k with match, PTO and other benefits.
