We are currently hiring a Full Time Mental Health Therapis/Clinical Trainee to join our Nexus Mille Lacs Clinical Treatment team. Nexus-Mille Lacs Family Healing offers trauma-informed, family-centered, nationally recognized treatment for boys, ages 10-19, with significant mental health issues and harmful sexual behaviors. Position Summary
Provide assessments and treatment services to individuals, families and groups, as well as facilitate partnership strategies with the community. Participate in the initial interview of resident pursuant to family history and provide a written assessment. Provide family and individual therapy services to residents and their families. Assess readiness for discharge in conjunction with other team members. Ensure compliance with governing agency and Nexus reporting requirements. Educate staff about family treatment integration theory and techniques and its application to residents.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • In coordination with the team, creates and drives a trauma-informed environment; establishing and maintaining a positive treatment culture and making necessary changes to ensure success.
  • Collaboration with youth and family to lead and develop to the Nexus Individual and Family Guidance Plans; ensuring staff understand and utilize them in adherence to policy.
  • Engage in and have active involvement of the Family Collaborative Intake meetings.
  • Complete Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths functional assessment in accordance to the TCOM (collaborative) principals.
  • Through the collaborative effort with family, youth and providers, develop and monitor the individual treatment plans.
  • Provide individualized, youth-focused, strength and evidenced-based family and individual therapy models to youth and families. Examples: Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.
  • Develop and facilitate milieu and treatment groups that are trauma informed, educational, and treatment focused.
  • Participate in all youth related treatment team meetings, using family centered language and youth driven principals.
  • Serve as a clinical treatment team leader to YCP's. This includes but is not limited to modeling and coaching staff on rapport building with clients, trauma-informed practices, and de-escalation techniques on the treatment milieu as needed.
  • Be available on-call for consultation/treatment direction and/or decisions when appropriate.
  • Assess readiness for discharge in conjunction with the treatment team. Coordinate and recommend therapeutic services for success after discharge.
  • Coordinate/communicate aftercare needs of the client with family and all necessary social service and community providers to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Communicate with the treatment team to include all desired and necessary family members, educational, legal, community, and social service providers (as well as all-natural supports that the youth and family identify) to gather all necessary information to inform and support the treatment process.
  • Ensures that all required client reports, records, and all documentation are produced accurately and maintained in a consistent, timely, and professional manner according to policy and regulated statutes.
  • Educate and facilitate trainings for staff on trauma informed practices, clinical diagnosis treatment processes, and other clinically relevant training material.
  • Participate in team meetings, program clinical team meetings, therapy clinical supervision sessions, and in-service as required.
  • Ensure confidentiality regarding mental health, medical issues, background treatment and comply with all HIPAA related requirements.
  • Remain current on all company policies, assigned trainings and/or certification requirements.

Required Education and Licensure

  • Minimum of Master’s or other graduate degree in one of the behavioral sciences, human services, social work, counseling, psychology, family therapy, or related fields from.
  • Must be licensed in related clinical field (LGSW, LCSW, LICSW, LP or LMFT) per state board requirements or on track for licensure. We do provide supervision hours for those who need it free of charge upon hire.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Schedule & Pay:

  • Full time
  • Pay Range: starting at $55,000 per year for full-time Clinical Trainees and $60,000 per year for full-time licensed Therapists.
  • Sign-on bonus of $1,000
