Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations and production issues in an effort to improve the organizational efficiency of the team.
  • Be a subject matter expert on VA, FHA, and USDA guidelines and loan endorsement.
  • Work with team lead and with government insuring reviewers in a way that encourages teamwork, cooperation, and productivity.
  • Track key productivity metrics, identify trends and resolve issues.
  • Build exceptional partnerships providing support on escalated items to/from both Internal and External partners.
  • Provide training and mentorship to new and current colleagues learning the process.
  • Review Quality Control samples to identify potential process improvement opportunities.
  • Perform time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced environment using multiple applications.
  • Be the back-up to complete high priority loan reviews & insuring quickly and accurately.
  • Complete other administrative duties related to departmental activities as assigned.
  • Build BOND loan process and controls to ensure we are meeting Agency guidelines.
  • Partner with HUD auditors to ensure processes are clear and concise.
  • Partner with Secondary Marketing Team to ensure all Bond loans are delivered in a timely fashion.
  • Seek process automation opportunities within the processes.
  • Knowledgeable within CEMA, CO- Ops and MHP loans
  • Knowledgeable within Escrow Holdback processes

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Banking and Mortgage experience (>10 years)
  • Operations/Production experience (>3 year)
  • Experience in Government Insuring for VA, FHA, and USDA for 1st Mortgage products (>2 years)
  • Experience working in FHA Connection, VA WebLGY (>2 years)
  • Basic data analysis and reporting skills
  • Independent Self-starter who can resolve team issues related to insuring with minimal supervision.
  • Solid organizational skills and able to multi-task effectively in a fast paced environment using multiple applications/systems.
  • Strong and professional verbal and written communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate with internal and external partners to resolve issues.
  • Computer proficiency with a good knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Willingness to learn new things, ability to quickly adapt in a constantly changing environment, and, as necessary, roll out applicable process/produces changes to the team.
  • Positive and customer-focused mindset

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • DE or LAPP certified
  • First Mortgage Credit and Underwriting experience (Appraisal Review, Income, Credit, and Desktop Underwriter)
  • Business Process Management, Six Sigma or LEAN experience
  • Risk Management

Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • High School Diploma required
  • Associates degree preferred

Hours and Work Schedule

  • Work Schedule: 8:00am to 5:00pm
  • Hours per week: 4o
