Hiring for Day shift:

• 8 hours shift (6a-2p)
• 12 hour shift 6a-6p

Cottages of Lake St. Louis is built on the small Home Model and each of our Cottages is Home to only 10 Elders - Each in a private bedroom with private bathroom. Elders' days are at their own pace.

Functions of the job:

• Take care of the needs of the elders while encouraging independence
• Observe, monitor, and report changes in the elders' condition to nurses
• Prepare and serve meals and nutritional snacks
• Assist elders with personal care functions, including but not limited to: Dental and mouth care, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and incontinence care
• Assist in moving, repositioning, and transporting elders into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc. as specific to each elders plan of care
• Launder clothing, linen, and other articles per guidelines
• Routinely clean and maintain the environment of the home
• Be a part of a team of care givers in the home who work collaboratively to provide care in a healthy and safe environment
• Assist elders with eating and properly document the intake and weights of the elders

Cottages of Lake St. Louis is a different kind of nursing home. We have 6 homes, each of which have up to 10 elders (residents) living in them. We are committed to creating homes where our elders and staff form bonds that lead to a higher quality of life for everyone. The primary objective of our Care Partners (CNAs) is to Protect, Sustain, and Nurture the lives of those who live with us.

They do this by taking care of the day to day needs of the household. This includes providing assistance with ADLs, preparing meals, and participating in activities that bring joys to the elders in the cottage. The ultimate goal of the Care Partner is to be a leader in the environment which promotes a high quality of life and a positive elderhood. The responsibilities include not just care for the Elders, but also their environment, including cooking, laundry, and some housekeeping.
