Develop robust, cost-effective machining processes that meet quality requirements for the Worcester Isothermal Machine Shop. Develop and maintain CNC machine programs for parts and Isothermal dies. Program machine tool probes for part inspection. Create data collection program interface (parser file) for Quantum SPC. Develop and maintain probe programs for machine accuracy and calibration. Specify equipment, tooling and supplies. Order tooling and maintain minimum inventory to meet production needs. Interact with scheduling to minimize set-up and maximize through-put. Provide technical support and guidance for hourly employees. Participate in cost reduction activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develop technical requirements for robust machining processes
- Meet / improve quality standards to reduce rework / nonconformance
- Meet / improve performance standards for increased productivity
- Shop floor resource for machining questions, concerns and process improvements
- Meet schedule requirements for on-time delivery to customers
- Yearly ring calibrate probes to ensure conforming inspection equipment
- Specify equipment, tooling, and supplies
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5-10 years manufacturing experience
- Strong knowledge of MasterCam software.
- Knowledge of machining processes and practices
- Experience developing programs for CNC equipment
- Understanding of dimensional inspection requirements
- Knowledge of shop floor safety requirements
- Highly motivated and driven in continuous improvement efforts
US Citizenship or Perm Residency is required due to government military contract
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
