Denali is looking for a professional and motivated Commodity Trading Assistant to join our team at our Selma, CA facility. This position is responsible for maintaining a high degree of professionalism and leadership while representing our company.

Denali (Imperial Western Products, Inc.) is a longstanding commodity trading and animal feed manufacturing company based in California. Additionally, we are a leading distributor of lubricants and biofuels along with our other business sectors which include: organic food recycling and collection, collection of used cooking oil, and various other green business operations in our 30+ divisions.

A Commodity Trading Assistant will work directly with a Senior Commodities Trader and help enter and manage purchase and sales contracts, manage truck and rail logistics, commodity positions, as well as accounts payables and receivables. This analytical candidate must be a team player, as this position interfaces with various departments including credit, marketing, and customer service.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Assist Trader with accounting responsibilities to ensure prompt payment of invoices. Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, freight analysis, and other miscellaneous reports on a daily/weekly basis.
• Responsible for accurate and timely reporting. Input new purchase and sale contracts. Calculate monthly sales reports.
• Working with dispatch and trader on weekly load reports and logistics for purchase and sale shipments.
• Responsible for compiling all load paperwork with proper pricing for purchase and sales and submitting to the billing department.
• Communicate business position and miscellaneous adjustments with Trader. Reconciles business unit trading position daily.

• Knowledge of accounting principles

Preferred

• 2 years of commodities or agriculture experience
• 2 years of accounting experience
• Knowledge of and experience in processing rail accounting transactions
