Summary:
Goldbelt Apex is seeking a Junior Level Communications Specialist to join our team providing communications and outreach activities for public health preparedness and response programs under the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) contract. HRSA will be supporting health centers in transitioning the Health Center COVID-19 Response Program to a commercial distribution model while ensuring continued access to vaccine, testing, and therapeutics for HRSA-supported health centers. The HRSA will carry out public health preparedness and response protocols, coordination mechanisms, and training to enhance logistical support that enable health centers to respond to emerging health care issues.

Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
  • Assist in the implementation of established communications and outreach activities for public health response programs
  • Assist in providing responses to external inquiries and outreach activities
  • Assist in development of templates and process to expedite production of materials and responses to emails and calls
  • Assist in the development of FAQ documents and responses
  • Assist in the development of leadership briefing materials
  • Participate in research activities and prepare draft communications outcomes
  • Support development of and delivery of weekly email status updates
  • Respond to ad-hoc emails and outreach phone calls
  • Contribute to slide decks and talking points creation for internal/external

Qualifications:
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information for external audiences and create visualizations
  • Excellent speaking and writing skills
  • Critical thinking skills and attention to detail and deadlines required
  • Strong organization and professional maturity
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to display high degree of diplomatic competence and discretion
  • Possess strong work ethic, flexibility, optimism, creativity and personal motivation
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with various team members
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications

Minimum Qualification:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in in communications, government and policy, marketing or related major OR minimum five (5) or more years of relevant work experience with no degree
  • Minimum two (2) or more years of experience developing internal and external strategic communication materials; including briefing decks, reports; change management; and/or marketing materials for federal agencies
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with health organizations preferred

The salary range for this position is $65,000.00-95,000.00 Annually.
