Responsibilities: This faculty member will be expected to teach courses across the Communications & Media Studies Department. The department is currently seeking a nine-month continuing track position at the rank of Assistant / Associate Professor to begin in Fall 2022 or Spring 2023. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for teaching courses within the department. Typical courses include Introduction to Graphic Design, Social Media, Video Games Analysis, Introduction to Film, Art & Analysis, Photography, etc.

In addition to teaching duties, the faculty member will be expected to contribute to curriculum development, student advising, university service and to pursue scholarly research. Communication is one of six departments in Biscayne College, which features a diverse, international faculty of scholars. We welcome applicants capable of contributing to the department's global and broad orientation toward communications studies. This is an in-person position with an anticipated start date of Fall 2022.

Essential Functions: Teach classes in the Communications & Media Studies department. Participate in student advising. Contribute to program and curricular development. Contribute to department and university service.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: A Ph.D. (or other terminal degree) in Communication or closely related field is required. Knowledge of contemporary practices and theories of communications and media.

Tuition Benefit

After 1 year of continuous full‐time service, employees are eligible to enroll in STU’s bachelor and master courses, tuition‐free. The program will cover a maximum timeframe of 125% of credit hours attempted toward the degree program. Employees may enroll in STU’s doctoral program, with a 40% tuition discount, under the same conditions.
