Construction Manager - Civil Job at SJ Construction Consulting, LLC
THE JOB: We have a fantastic construction management opportunity for a civil construction professional on the Kona Coast. This large grading job is a long term project with a part time management need. The candidate will interact daily with the Contractor to analyze schedule progress, ensure permit compliance, and keep tabs on potential cost changes to the project.
OUR COMPANY AND OUR CLIENT: Our construction management office is in Honolulu, which is where you will report back to locally. Our client is on the mainland and will require weekly check-ins on progress.
YOUR SKILLS: The ideal candidate will have full knowledge of civil construction: grading, utilities, and excavation/embankment. Skills in Microsoft products and Bluebeam are mandatory; Smartsheet is a preferred skillset, but we can teach this to you. You will report your time daily into cloud-based software (formerly T-Sheets). Estimating experience is a plus, as we expect that there will be change orders and you will have to review them and recommend them, or not, to our client.
YOUR BACKGROUND: Knowing the work and having a personality to progress the project is key. Because this work is remote to our main office in Honolulu, your ability to work independently in the field and on your computer is vital to our success. A former superintendent or project manager in the industry with specific Kona experience would be ideal.
EDUCATION AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: A bachelors degree in engineering is preferred, but ultimately we need an outstanding communicator who knows construction. We need someone who is excellent at written and oral communication, reliable, and trustworthy. Also, be fun. Our company loves construction. Lastly, we prefer someone with a minimum of ten years experience.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
