We are seeking a full-time Proposal Coordinator to join our Grand Rapids Marketing team. The Proposal Coordinator assists with the development of sales proposals, prequalification submissions, and tasks related to the pursuit of new business. This person reports directly to the Director of Programming & Marketing. The role requires excellent professional writing skills, a high level of creativity and adaptability, and the ability to thrive under pressure.

Job responsibilities include:

• Proposals: Assist with proposal submissions for commercial construction programs in West Michigan, ranging from $5 - $100 million. Responsibilities include message creation, writing and editing technical copy, document design and layout, and team collaboration. This person’s role on the proposal team will vary from administrative support to team leader, depending upon the needs of each pursuit. Support the Marketing Team by regularly updating and maintaining proposal-related documents and systems.
• Interviews: Assist with interview presentation coordination, developing outlines, creating visual presentations, and helping with preparatory meetings for teams of 4-10 presenters
• Coordinate RFQ responses and standard qualification packages (approximately 1 per month)
• Blog updates and writing projects: Support monthly updates to project blogs, social media copy, and miscellaneous writing projects
• Public relations: Write monthly press releases
• Assist the Marketing Team and Department Heads, as necessary

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, or related field and 2-5 years of professional writing experience
• Professional writing skills: A high level of professional writing, message development, grammar, and ability to learn and edit technical copy
• Graphic design: Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred but not required
• Public sector knowledge: Understanding of the public sector (K-12 and/or government), while not required, will become an essential component for success in this role.
• Creativity and adaptability: Ability to identify problems, create solutions, and adapt well in any team environment
• Eye for Details: Accuracy is critical for success in this role. Candidate must have superior organizational, communication (both written and verbal) and decision-making skills
