Continuous Improvement Manager Job at AmesburyTruth
AmesburyTruth is looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager to join our team in Owatonna, MN! This role is responsible for driving implementation of the Continuous Improvement culture for our largest US Manufacturing site with 600 employees.
You are responsible for leadership and development of programs that educate teammates about lean concepts and lead to the identification, development, and implementation of improvements and cost savings.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and executes a Continuous Improvement strategy and CI transformation roadmap through engagement, training and implementing of lean Tools, Systems and Cultural enables to superior operational performance and Sustainable Results.
- Champions the implementation of a Lean Management System through regular Kaizen activities and breakthrough improvements with broad engagement and the spirit of “Better today than yesterday… Everybody Everyday”
- Train, mentor and coach of site teams in the Operating Excellence model; drives Process and People development side-by-side
- Directs and facilitates the ongoing lean improvement process through the use of techniques such as Kaizen, 5’S, TPM, Kanban, Goal Deployment, etc.
- Provides lean improvement orientation and on-the-job training for teammates and ensures that the responsibilities are defined and understood, and oversees the lean projects.
- Teach others to lead improvement efforts, including training on effective tools for successful project leadership.
- Identify ongoing lean improvement training needs and assist with developing and implementing the required training.
- Ensure that appropriate safety and ergonomic processes and methods are being utilized.
- Identify needs relating to improvements in safety/ergonomics and assist in developing and implementing solutions to these issues.
- Ties CI efforts to business impact. Establish metrics to monitor financial savings as compared to established goals and targets.
- Develop and maintain annual value stream mapping efforts, CI plans, and calendars.
- Provide support to external customers in support of AmesburyTruth value added initiatives.
Requirements
- BS, BA or similar degree with an emphasis in manufacturing, or equivalent is desired
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on operational leadership experience (supervisor, manager of shop operation, WH/supply chain operation or equivalent) is preferred
- Senior practitioner with solid understanding of TPS/Lean manufacturing principles (formal Lean certification is advantageous). Proven track record of CI implementation with ownership and sustainable results
- Six Sigma experience is a plus
- Proven analysis and presentation skills including use of common tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong change management and project management skills to include the practical implementation of Lean Manufacturing Principles and Concepts.
- Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
