This Massillon-area position is Full-Time, M-F, no nights or weekends.

The Commercial Cook's Assistant will help the Cook prepare high quality, tasty foods in large quantities.

Requirements

• Assist with prepping and cooking. Accurately follow recipes, menus and production sheets.
• Prepare cold count sheets and maintain updated driver daily load sheets.
• Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe, sanitary food-handling practices.
• Operate cooking and production equipment and report operating problems.
• Maintain needed supplies (FIFO), ensuring appropriate ingredients are available for the next days meal, and that proper weights and measures are used.
• Utilize SERVtracker system for meal operations. Order and track meal updates for all sites via the system.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records on temperature logs, daily production sheets, purchases, incident reports, etc.
• Comply with all Health Department regulations.
• Assist with ordering products from vendors and cleaning the kitchen and delivery/pick-up areas.
• Instruct workers on what duties need to be completed. Lead the kitchen in the absence of the Cook.
• Deliver meals when necessary.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a commercial food production or kitchen environment
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
