L.L.Bean is currently searching for a Creative Designer to join the Creative team located in Freeport, Maine.
- We welcome the opportunity for this role to be hybrid based at the corporate headquarters in Freeport, Maine, or to be based remotely in the following states: Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin.
Position Purpose: In this important role this person will be responsible for the artistic translation of brand strategy and marketing communication to consumers for Print, Digital, and Retail business channels. Utilizes demonstrated knowledge of design process from conceptualization through production. Ensures design consistency and quality meets L.L.Bean standards utilizing skills in problem solving and communication. Presents design concepts to Creative leadership providing appropriate business context within necessary parameters.

- Design and produce projects on schedule as assigned. Review layouts with Creative leadership.
- Participate in the conception and wireframing of assigned projects, providing creative input concerning presentation and execution.
- Partner with Photo Art Directors and Video team to ensure proper application and consideration of photography assets.
- Collaborate with copywriters on proper application of appropriate copy elements to ensure strategic solutions, synergy and consistency.
- Work closely with cross functional partners to interpret brief and to develop visual executions
- Attend creative scheduled meetings.
- Maintain awareness of retail industry, graphic design and marketing trends across channels and platforms and share with partners as appropriate.
- Provide clear specifications as required to Production partners.
Education Level: 4-Year Bachelors Degree
Years of Experience: 2+ years
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2+ years related work experience and portfolio demonstrating relevant work samples
- Solid demonstrated understanding of paid and organic social platforms and creative best practices
- Understanding of how to translate and incorporate marketing goals and objectives into inspiring creative ideas and executions.
- Experience concepting, creating, and developing web banners and website assets.
- Understanding of best practices and key functionalities of multiple channels (i.e. catalogs, web, email, online advertising, retail).
- Good understanding of business strategy and objectives
- Team player
- Detail oriented
- Good awareness of color, typography, texture and spatial environment when applicable.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work to deadlines under pressure with conflicting priorities.
- Actively learns and applies new skills, techniques and procedures in own area of work.
- Preliminary understanding of company’s branding, marketing strategy and target customer.
- Solid understanding of Adobe Creative Suite
- Proficiency with Office 365
- No direct report, may mentor others.
