Crum & Forster is seeking a Underwriter Trainee for the eRisk team within the Executive Risk team located in one of their primary office locations (Morristown NJ, Jersey City NJ, Atlanta GA, Chicago IL or Houston TX). The candidate will work in a team setting to underwrite Technology E&O, Cyber insurance and other professional liability products.
What you will do:
Participation in a 10-week training program in Morristown NJ with lodging provided, to learn the skills necessary to successfully progress to a full time position as an Associate Underwriting for the eRisk (Technology E&O and Cyber) team at C&F.
Associate Underwriters are expected to:
Review insurance applications; create quotes and bind contracts of insurance in accordance with
applicable underwriting guidelines and company procedures.

Administering and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations and manual rating rules.
Developing and maintaining agency and broker relationships.
Maintaining, organizing and updating files.
Participate in training and initiatives to develop knowledge base.
Complete projects and other duties as assigned.
What you will bring to C&F:
Basic skills in relationship building, active listening, needs-analysis and win-win negotiating.
Basic presentation skills and a solutions and service orientation.
Possesses knowledge of time management.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to function effectively in team environment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs and the ability to learn new applications.
Will abide by departmental policies and procedures, including authority levels, to comply with C&F's risk management controls
Bachelor’s degree required with minimum 3.5 overall GPA
Some travel required.
