Job Purpose:

The Genome Sciences is seeking a highly motivated scientist to drive the identification and validation of new drug targets in human genetics. As a key member of the new discovery engine, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping innovative concepts and developing models for screening drug targets for the treatment of cardiometabolic diseases, including eye diseases, heart failure, liver diseases, and vascular diseases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish stem cell-based disease platforms for target identification and validation
• Develop assays to perform screens using CRISPR and high-content imaging techniques
• Design and execute laboratory experiments, interpret data, and communicate results effectively
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across therapeutic and functional areas
• Maintain electronic lab notebooks and sample inventories

Required Experience and Skills:

• 
  Expertise in stem cell culturing, differentiation, and characterization for disease modeling, target identification
• Ability to perform gene manipulation technologies such as CRISPR, siRNA, ASOs, lentivirus, and AAVs
• Hands-on experience in cell and molecular biology techniques, including RNA extraction, qPCR, ELISA/MSD, ICC, and imaging
• Ability to lead projects individually and as part of a team
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to understand omics data is a plus

Required Experience, Education and Skills:

• MS/Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology or a related discipline
• At least 3 years of work experience in an academic or industry setting.

• Expertise in stem cell culturing, differentiation, and characterization for disease modeling, target identification, or cell therapy products
• Ability to perform gene manipulation technologies such as CRISPR, siRNA, ASOs, lentivirus, and AAVs
• Hands-on experience in cell and molecular biology techniques, including RNA extraction, qPCR, ELISA/MSD, ICC, and imaging
• Ability to lead projects individually and as part of a team
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to understand omics data is a plus
