Job Description


As a valued colleague on our Financial Data and Strategy team, you will design and manage the data control framework across the Finance ecosystem by assessing opportunities for improving data governance and best practices in a part of the Cloud migration.

We have one opening for this role and it can be worked on a Hybrid basis from our Washington, DC or Reston, VA office.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
The Data Management - Lead Associate role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Assess customer needs and intended use of requested data in the development of data requirements and support the planning and engineering of product development.
  • Evaluate business database model discrepancies and resolve the most complex data integration challenges.
  • Consult with business units and technical staff to understand data usage, lineage, and attributes.
  • Lead the team to organize and integrate data into readily available formats while maintaining existing structures and govern their use according to business requirements.
  • Recommend opportunities to align data architecture workstreams with business objectives.
  • Lead a team in the identification and analysis of customer needs and strive to do what's right for our customers.
  • Lead team in the development, implementation, and maintenance of business intelligence (BI) applications and tools.
  • Guide team in the creation and implementation of automated business processes and mechanisms to generate meaningful reports to help us deliver on Fannie Mae's vision and purpose.
  • Analyze data to drive business decision-making capabilities.
  • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems, including developing requirements for new features and enhancements.
  • Recommend opportunities for new data models and/or the reuse of data models in new environments.

Qualifications


THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM


Minimum Required Experiences

  • 4 years related experience
  • 2+ years' AWS cloud-based technology services experience
  • Strong experience in data engineering, data warehousing, data security and ETL processes
  • Strong SQL experience
  • Skilled in Amazon Web Services (AWS) offerings, development, and networking platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good leadership and collaboration skills

Desired Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Amazon Web Services (AWS) architecture and technologies such as S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, Lambda, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, and ECS, among others
  • Experience in using APIs for developing or programming software
  • Skilled in AWS Management and Governance suite of products such as CloudTrail, CloudWatch, or Systems Manager
  • Experience with data modeling, data architecture, and data governance
  • Experience in Agile ceremonies and best practices
  • Experience working for a financial services company
