Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind one of the World’s largest Cloud Infrastructures, responsible for powering all Microsoft online Products and Services as well as powering Microsoft’s “Cloud First” mission. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide, and we are looking for a passionate, Datacenter Planning Director to help achieve that mission.

Responsibilities
- Drive cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and to manage complex business needs.
- Leads project / program management to ensure organization-wide implementation of strategic efforts that require hands-on coordination across multiple disciplines and business organizations.
- Leads strategic innovation and experimentation.
- Capacity Delivery / Network Refresh – Implement planning and scheduling programs to meet Microsoft customer needs.
- Continuous Improvement – Seek ways to streamline, automate and simplify processes. This will include deployment of tools, proficiency in data analytics, and ability to streamline processes to better meet business needs.
- Drive business results through key performance indicators and business goals, promoting clarity and motivation to the project team to execute on time, under budget, while delivering high quality results.
- Influence design standards for network execution programs throughout our datacenter portfolio.
- Partner with finance and supply chain organizations to ensure accurate capital spending.
- Manage program communications throughout executive levels.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

OR equivalent experience.

6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- Professional PM certification, PMP, Prince2, PMI, ESI or equivalent
Other Requirements:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

- Detailed understanding of global datacenter network designs, operations, and engineering.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, solve complex challenges, and operate in a fast-paced team environment.
- Proven track record of leading global technical program teams.
- Experience in supply chain operations management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence leadership and cross functional teams.
- Experience setting up, building, and maintaining global production schedules.
- Experience in integration of teams with new technologies.
- Quantitative and analytical skills.
Technical Program Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $158,500 - $276,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,800 - $304,200 per year.
