Apex Systems has an immediate need for a ( 90% Remote ) C++ Programmer / Database Administrator living within 80 Miles of Either 1) Norfolk, VA 2) Charleston, SC 3) New Orleans, LA 4) Tampa, FL or 5) Washington, DC Area !!! Permanent Hire Pay Rate: $140,000 - $170,000

Contract Type: Estimated 12 Month "Contract to Permanent Hire with Client"

Requirements

• Secret Clearance ** Eligibility ** ( We Will Sponsor this Secret Clearance )
• Sec+CE or Equivalent before starting
• 5+ Years of Software Development Experience of Any Type
• Knowledge and ability to develop Linux based scripts (e.g. Perl, Python, etc.)
• You Must live within 80 Miles of One of the Following: 1) Norfolk, VA 2) Charleston, SC 3) New Orleans, LA 4) Tampa, FL or 5) Washington, DC Area

Job Summary:

• Develops new functionality and maintains existing custom government off the shelf (GOTS) windows-based C++ application (client side)
• Develops new functionality and maintains existing custom government off the shelf (GOTS) middleware using secure coding best practices for a Linux based (server side) Platform as a Service (PaaS) environment.
• Automates system administration and database functions and integrates middleware components for a Linux based Platform as a Service (PaaS) environment.
• Assists in identification of security vulnerabilities and remediates them with oversight. Adheres to applicable DoD STIGs (secure technical implantation guides) when developing software.
• Promotes software development best practices and identifies specific areas for process improvement.
• Works effectively in a highly collaborative team-oriented environment. Demonstrates initiative by identifying solutions for problems and influencing team members to implement them.
• Develops installation packages and creates upgrade paths for system updates.
• Applies a “system of systems” approach when performing systems engineering functions (such as creation of requirement and design documentation, or analysis of impacts to existing system functionality and interfaces for potential modifications).
• Provides deep level technical support for end users.
