Job Description: Director, Domestic Violence Programs
Supervised by: Chief Program Officer

Position Profile: Under the supervision of the Chief Program Officer, the Director of Domestic Violence Programs is responsible for developing and directing the quality and effective delivery of DV Programs through creation and oversight of program standards, policies, and procedures in accordance with the overall mission and strategic priorities of the Community Resource Center (CRC). The Director of DV Programs is responsible for the direct daily supervision of the Program Manager(s) and Project Coordinator(s), within the Domestic Violence Department.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain policy and procedures that support contract compliance and incorporate emerging industry best practices that are responsive to the needs of CRC participants and the greater community.
  • Provide direct supervision, oversight and mentoring of Program Manager(s), Coordinator (s) and Specialist (s).
  • Support the Manager(s) Coordinator(s) in the selection and training of DV program staff. Ensure adequate staffing levels and budget for staffing is appropriate and meets program requirements.
  • Provide key inputs on strategic program development for expansion and enhancement of CRC ‘s Domestic Violence programming.
  • Lead the technical input, target setting and departmental budget development for new funding proposals for the maintenance and expansion of CRC DV Programs.
  • Network and strengthen partnerships with organizations throughout the County, City and State funding and program networks, representing CRC in public forums.
  • Lead and advance the DV prevention program, trainings, technical assistance, and educational presentations both internally and to the greater community as needed.
  • Ensure DV program department is appropriately equipped, communicating with the Operations Department to ensure unit facility and equipment needs are appropriately met.
  • In collaboration with the Chief Programs Officer and Chief Executive Officer, research, develop and implement
  • Domestic Violence programs that are responsive to the needs of CRC participants and the greater community.
  • Leverage political insights of upcoming or current legislation relevant to CRC’s DV programs and advise CRC leadership accordingly.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a social-service related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in Domestic Violence or related services.
  • Strong Leadership skills with ability to motivate teams to achieve success.
  • Ability to work sensitively with traumatized and diverse populations and to handle crisis effectively.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with clients, co-workers, and community partners.
  • Must possess strong computer and organizational skills, public speaking skills and ability to manage multiple tasks proficiently.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, maintain a professional relationship with clients and staff, consistently strive to present a positive image of the agency to the surrounding communities and be able to perform diverse tasks in an efficient and effective manner.

Physical requirements:

  • Intermittent standing, walking, bending, stair climbing; occasional driving, throughout a regular workday.
  • Occasional light lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment at a computer, including repetitive use of a keyboard and mouse.

This position is exempt and is paid according to state and federal laws. Successful candidates must be able to pass
LiveScan.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
