Director of Financial Planning and Analysis Job at HealthPartners
HealthPartners is currently hiring for our Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. They will be responsible for providing financial support, analysis and guidance to the Health Plan, System Services and partnering with Care Delivery finance team to bring the consolidated view of budgeting, financial forecasting and long-range financial planning. They will have oversight of the preparation of income statements financial reports, forecasts, budgets, analysis, health plan product line support, and pricing of services for health plan products. ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Responsible for the supervision of staff, including having the authority to hire, transfer, lay off, promote, discipline and discharge, train, reward and review performance of employees. Ensures compliance to organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Analyzes current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, claims, expenses and capital expenditures.
- Lead and oversee the annual/quarterly and long range planning processes
- Improves performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies and complete ROI for new projects.
- Oversees financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.
- Directs the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal purposes for the Health Plan.
- Prepares financial summaries and variance analysis and communicates results with leaders.
- Identifies and communicates problem areas which may affect financial performance for these divisions. Resolves issues as appropriate.
- Responsible for understanding and providing input into the cost allocation methods between organizations and divisions within HealthPartners.
- Analyzes complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes.
- Leads work to support system service areas to ensure financial goals are met.
- Prepares presentations to Board of Directors and senior management team.
- Presents financial reports and analysis to divisional leaders to ensure financial goals are attained and corrective action are taken.
- Builds effective working relationships with senior level executives and departmental managers within the organization and becomes an integral part of the senior management team and financial advocate for the divisions.
- Provides other financial analysis and projects as requested by senior management:
- Performs other duties as requested by management
- Cost accounting and pricing analysis
- Benchmarking
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in finance and/or accounting.
- Strong knowledge of financial modeling, analysis and accounting principles and practices.
- Experience managing exempt employees.
- Skilled at listening to customers, interpreting their needs and responding to their requests in a timely manner.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Must possess strong consultative, problems solving and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively under tight deadlines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of Health Care administration
- CPA, CMA
- MBA
DECISION-MAKING:
- This position is expected to operate within the corporate policies and priorities of the organization.
- Responsible for the development and management of the Divisions budgets and forecasts.
- Major policy decisions would be reviewed by the CFO Health Plan.
