Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Corporate Partnerships’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing leadership for the growth of LIT partnerships with business, industry, and non-profit organizations and agencies, as well as community-based non-credit programming. The individual works closely with management to use evidence-based practice to create and implement a strategic plan in response to the changing workforce needs of our corporate and non-profit partners while increasing LIT’s presence and standing as a leading partner in the region’s economic development.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the contact for non-credit and credit customized training and workforce development programming
  • Build strategic business and industry partnerships with area industries and organizations
  • Facilitate discussions with employers to determine needs and workforce skill sets
  • Utilize local, regional, and national labor market data to work in collaboration with management to create the strategic plan for Corporate College development
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop a marketing plan and dynamic web presence
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to expand Corporate College offerings
  • Collaborate with local Workforce Boards and have a strong understanding of available state and federal training funds, including, but not limited to: Workforce Training Funds, WIOA funding, and State of Texas Emergency Grants
  • Assist management in the preparation of grant proposals and funding requests
  • Develop and deliver presentations for Corporate College contract expansion
  • Collaborate closely with Instruction on the creation and implementation of educational pathways and stackable credentials, from basic workforce skill development to associate degree program
  • Collaborate with Instruction to create pathways for students in academic programs to internships with partners associated with Corporate College
  • Create and implement memorandums of understanding and contracts with external partners
  • Assist with recruitment of instructors for non-credit offerings
  • Assess annual performance against objectives; prepare and submit internal quarterly and annual performance reports
  • Monitor programs scheduled in the evening or on weekends as needed
  • This position will require significant regional travel, attending early morning, evening, and weekend events or meetings
  • Other related duties, as assigned


Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to: remain in a stationary position for most of the time; occasionally move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; constantly operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • At least three years of related experience and/or training to the duties and responsibilities
  • Demonstrated work experience collaborating with multiple organizations and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated work experience in grant development/writing/management experience with general knowledge of proposal guidelines
  • Effective presentation and communication skills
  • Strategic decision-making capability
  • Customer service focus and the ability to build partnerships
  • Strong attention to detail, superior work ethic, professionalism and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior managerial experience in corporate training and development or college/university continuing/community education
  • Master’s degree
