The Director of Wellness plans, creates and manages Wellness programs of the resort to achieve customer (guest & employee) satisfaction, provide impactful wellness experiences, while meeting/exceeding financial goals. Experience operating medium to large spa and wellness operations is required for this position. The position is responsible for short and long term strategic planning and day-to-day operations of all wellness programming and facilities on the property. Experience creating programming in the spa, fitness and wellness spaces, along with sharing insight and ideas for other departments. Includes spa treatment creation and development, activity creation, special event creation and management of execution. Understanding the scheduling and flow of operations and how it relates to the associate experience and the guest journey. Ability to ensure associates have the right workload to do their best work and the guest experience is always positive. Pre-opening experience is preferred.

A proven record of hiring and building a positive, cohesive team that knows how to take care of the well-being of each other and our guests. As a Director, direct reports will include other leaders and associates. Partners with the Director of Finance, Director of Sales & Marketing, Director of People & Culture, and General Manager to develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans and objectives and manages within those approved plans. Financial acumen is essential, with fluency in reading, understanding, and managing a Profit and Loss statement, including inventory. Systems fluency with technology platforms used in operations of the resort and wellness spaces.

Primary duties must consist of administrative executive or professional tasks more than 50 percent of the time and job duties must also involve the use of discretion and independent judgement more than 50 percent of the time.Experience in massage, esthetics, fitness or mindfulness, along with knowledge in holistic practices such as aromatherapy, Ayurveda, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), meditation, sound therapy, nutrition, mindful movement and breath work, preferred.

Salary 90K - 110K

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A four-year college degree or equivalent.
• Three to five years of employment in a related leadership position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Approach all encounters with guests and Associates in a friendly service oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with standards as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working.
• Comply at all times with standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
• With Human Resources and Accounting Support control staffing levels and compensation programs through strategic planning and market analysis.
• Proactively develop recruitment strategies and activate at appropriate time.
• Facilitate and organize Monthly Meetings with wellness teams
• Manage direct reports who oversee all customer services and technical staff. Hold weekly one-on-ones to advise on decision making.
• Develop, implement and maintain operational procedures for company with guidance from General Manager. Ensure direct reports communicate and follow-through on necessary objectives. Systems design and re-design to help assure operating consistency and efficiency.
• Track & assess managerial and technical staff schedules and vacation time to maximize service sales based on time of year.
• Responsible for internal marketing and expand existing customer base generate referral business.
• Monitor all wellness related advertising and promotional activities to determine if results warrant continuance.
• Develop and manage group sales and community marketing programs for the wellness business units to increase this area of business. Participate in trade shows community events and business partnership outreach.
• Provides needs-assessment of training items related to customer service and retail sales and develop programs to increase performance.
• Responsible for meeting budgeted profit goals; sets revenue and spending budgets for the Wellness business units with the assistance of the Director of Finance and General Manager.
• Manage vendor relationships to ensure value purchasing and appropriate supply levels.
• Effectively manage wellness business units payroll departmental checkbook and prepare financial and managerial reports as required.
• Follow lost and found procedures in an efficient a timely manner.
• Responsible for the achievement of departmental objectives and goals.
• Maintain open communication with other departments.
• Attend meetings as necessary.
• Promote teamwork Associate motivation and morale.
• Remain mindful of energy conservation.
