  • The Director of Benefits Planning and Performance will be responsible for planning, design, and delivery of benefits plans and programs, financial performance management, and compliance.

What you'll do

  • Directs the planning process for creating or enhancing benefits plans and programs related to health and wellness, income protection benefits, and voluntary benefits
  • Drives performance and accountability of vendors, consultants, and internal teams with a relentless focus on cost management, return on investments, and trend mitigation
  • Partners with Finance to create or enhance forecasting models and build the annual budget
  • Oversees approvals of invoices and accruals during the monthly book-closing process and partners with Finance to provide detailed variance explanations relative to forecast/budget
  • Leads forcing mechanisms such as regular reporting, performance metrics, and business reviews and owns the financial performance of benefits plans and programs relative to budget and cost management goals
  • Serves as a thought-partner to the Labor Relations team supporting the negotiation process for Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement with various unions
  • Leads RFP planning and execution in partnership with Procurement, Legal, and Consultants. Demonstrates a strong business and financial acumen to develop contracts with strong
  • Oversees the contract renewal planning processes for international benefits and support local business team, people business partners, and recruiters to attract and retain talent
  • Develops tools and communication materials that increase employee engagement
  • Ensures processes are compliant with all legal and government regulations, Company policies and procedures, internal quality standards, and Sarbanes-Oxley controls
  • Maintains compliance with global and local requirements, such as ACA, ERISA, and HIPAA, as well as other state and federal requirements
  • Leads and develops a team of benefits and compliance professionals by providing strategic direction and ensuring that the team is engaged

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Demonstrates the highest standards of personal ethics and integrity
  • 7 years of experience in leadership roles
  • Experience in finance, benefits cost management, or related field
  • Exceptional planning, analytical, and problem resolution skills

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, related field or equivalent experience; Advanced degree
  • CPA, CFA, PMP certification
  • Hands-on experience with creating dynamic reporting dashboards
  • Extensive experience with vendor management to drive metric-based accountability

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to optimize the use of all available resources and deliver on multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results while simultaneously managing multiple priorities
  • Understanding of collective bargaining agreements
  • Skilled in stakeholder management, as well as proven ability to build and facilitate relationships at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Ability to influence through outstanding interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing, and complex environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively and clearly communicate a strategic and tactical vision to all levels within the organization, as well as with external agencies and business partners
