About the job
As the UX Director for Search UX (SearchX), you will lead a multi-disciplinary UX team responsible for the Search Results Page across mobile, tablet, and desktop. You will help us reimagine what a modern web result could be, and how the overall search experience can have a more opinionated design that dynamically responds to user intents. You will partner closely with critical teams such as Shopping, Ads, Travel, and Local to co-create this outlook for Search, working across teams to reconcile feature needs with framework coherence.
The team will be part of a broader Search UX Foundations group responsible for delivering compelling and coherent experiences across core Search, Discover, and the Viewer. In turn, Search UX Foundations is part of the Search UX organization delivering the entirety of Google Search.
As a leader, you will lead the team through career development, ensure they protect time for innovation and big thinking, rise to challenges with renewed energy and excitement, and foster connections to larger Google initiatives. You will nurture and cultivate teams where diversity of thought is the expectation. You will move effortlessly between the high level strategic POV and the details that make the difference.
You will have a creative perspective that is informed by a deep awareness of cultural, aesthetic, and artistic trends. You will inspire teams and partners alike to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
