Position Summary:
Under direct supervision performs various tasks to ensure residents receive food in a timely manner, eating, and kitchen areas are clean and inventory is maintained, as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in the preparation and portioning of meal items according to menu and diet requirements. Reviews menus for special diet needs prior to the meal.
- Assists in the service of meals in accordance with sanitation standards.
- Keeps accurate records of residents' dietary needs.
- Maintains standards of meal service regarding food distribution, timing, tast and presentation, portion control and service schedule and technique.
- Prepares, pours, and serves beverages for meals and nourishments and restocks beverage supplies, as needed.
- Prepares cold food, as needed.
- Sets up trays according to menu and diet requirements and prepares for service to the units and/or dining room. Serves in the dining room and delivers carts to units.
- Clears and cleans tables, resets tables with condiments, utensils, and dishes for next meal.
- Uses required sanitation practices in the dish room to ensure all dishes, cooking utensils, pots/pans, eating utensils, etc. are properly cleaned and stores clean dishes.
- Returns carts to the dish room, strips trays, washes trays and carts.
- Performs cleaning assitnmgnets in kitchen and serving areas as scheduled and directed.
- Operates kitchen equipment, as necessary. Assists in care and maintenance of all equipment.
- Maintains inventory supply of nourishments. Prepares and delivers snacks and nourishments as requested by nursing units.
- Adheres to the Resident's Bill of Rights, Confidentiality of Resident Information and Resident Abuse Reporting Law.
- Interacts with residents, family members, co-workers, clinical, and ancillary staff in a respectful, non-judgmental, supportive, and calm manner.
- Provides excellent service. Addresses family satisfaction issues immediately by reporting them to the Charge Nurse in a professional manner.
- Participates as assigned in the orientation of new staff and demonstrates a positive, helpful, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Complies with all company, state and OSHA safety standards. Recognizes, removes and/or reports potential hazards.
- Follows procedures regarding proper sanitation, food storage, hand washing, glove usage, waste disposal, and dress code.
- Communicates and observes the Corporate Compliance Program effectively and complies with Code of Conduct when performing work functions.
- Attends all mandatory in-service sessions and completes Silverchair requirements within required timelines.
- Maintains resident confidentiality.
- Performs other related duties as required or requested.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $11.25 per hour
