Dispatcher Job at Felix Transport
Based on the nature of logging/forestry industry, the dispatcher follows no standardized set of dispatch procedures. The dispatcher is required to exercise discretion and independent judgement to strategically schedule and route drivers to pick up loads of timber from harvest sites and deliver those loads to the appropriate mills. The dispatcher must monitor and analyze where all trucks are located and decide which vehicle will provide the most economical and efficient routes to the harvest sites, mills, and night base. The dispatcher is required to monitor the locations of trucks throughout the day and adjust/assign/route vehicles from harvest sites and deliver loads to designated mills. Also routes the trucks of contracted trucking companies according to contracted instructions. Evaluates drivers’ performance and utilizes discretion to remove driver from road for safety reasons, recommends with substantial weight given to driver discipline, terminations; participates in disciplinary/termination meetings.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
