CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.
- The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.
- As a CANDIDATE, you are required to provide documentation (i.e. High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent; AND
- Four (4) years of professional administrative experience or related field.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- MILITARY PERSONNEL TRANSACTIONS:
- Supervises five employees to include reviewing and approving timesheets, initiating performance expectations, and completing performance evaluations. Ensures the sections workload is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Verifies all enlisted promotions, reductions, lateral appointments, advancements and MOS orders for accuracy and eligibility IAW various military regulations.
- Processes transfers to/from ING (Inactive National Guard).
- Processes flagging actions on enlisted Soldiers.
- Processes miscellaneous personnel transactions as required.
- Verifies and codes various military education documents.
- Verifies information on various military awards and code them in IPPS-A (Integrated Personnel and Pay System).
- Checks Integrated Personnel and Pay System (IPPS-A) for personnel action request, verifies information and publishes orders as required.
- Manages automatic advancements program. Receives roster of all Soldiers in rank of E1 and E2. Researches eligibility for advancement to the next grade.

- Knowledge of basic arithmetic
- Knowledge of office procedures and practices
- Knowledge of standard office equipment
- Ability to remember numbers and details
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Knowledge of National Guard Regulations. Must constantly update this knowledge based on correspondence and verbal instructions from the National Guard Bureau
- Ability to compose correspondence
- Knowledge of problem solving techniques
- Basic computer skills to run the various programs
