Canyon Canines is a small dog hiking business in Cache Valley, UT. Our hiking areas cover Preston and Franklin ID, as well as Richmond, Smithfield, Hyde Park, North Logan, Logan, Providence, Nibley, Millville, Hyrum, Wellsville, and Mendon UT.

Our goal is to:

Do you enjoy taking your dog hiking and want to earn some extra money doing what you already love?

Do you have experience handling dogs off-leash and own a dog-friendly car?

Could you use a few hundred extra dollars a month playing with dogs and being out in nature?

Join our team at Canyon Canines as a dog hiker! You’ll be greeted with wagging tails and happy faces every time you go to work. Plus, you’ll get to exercise while getting paid! We supply all the needed treats, leashes, doggy bags, water jugs, etc.

This job is perfect for someone who LOVES dogs and has experience working with dogs off-leash. We prefer if you have experiences training dogs and working with multiple dogs at a time. Extra bonus if you are great at taking photos of dogs.

DAYS/TIMES NEEDED: Mon-Sat Hours: 8am-12pm or 1pm-5pm

*NOTE: Summer hours hikes will primarily be from 8-12pm not 1-5pm. That changes as the weather cools off again.

Please note: This is a very part-time job to start (2-5 hikes per week). More hikes available as experience increases.

STARTING PAY RATE: $12 per dog for a 1.5-2 hour hike. (You will start with at least 4 dogs).

Application Question(s):

• Would you be able to hike in the morning (8am-12pm) or afternoon (1-5pm) or both? And what days would you be available (Mon-Sat)?
• You will be responsible for using your own vehicle/gas to pick up and drop off the dogs. We hike as far North as Preston, as far South as Wellsville. You may also have to drive on rocky/snowy/wet canyon roads. Do you have adequate driving experience for this?
• For this job you must be comfortable working with big and small dogs. Tell us about your experience with dogs. How many dogs have you owned? How many dogs have you trained? Have you worked with dogs professionally before?
• We are looking for at least a 6 month commitment. The dogs want to develop a long-term relationship with you. How long would you be able to commit to hike dogs?
• Can you easily pass a criminal/background check and do you have a clean driving record?
• You must have a dog-friendly car. What vehicle do you have? (please be specific)
• If you see our content on insta @canyon.canines you'll see that we highly value good quality photos and videos of the dogs while hiking. This helps clients feel connected to their dog's experience. Do you have adequate experience taking good photos/videos?
• We are specifically looking for people who can work the ENTIRE summer as well as moving onto the school year. Are you available the whole summer? What about the school year?
• What city do you live in? We highly recommend you live within the boundaries of either Preston, Franklin, Richmond, Smithfield, North Logan, Hyde Park, Logan, Providence, Millville, Hyrum, Nibley, Wellsville, or Mendon.
