Position Objectives:

To assist in the implementation of a comprehensive donor engagement program that promotes long-term relationships with donors with a focus on major donors. The position will be based out of Norfolk, VA with the option to be primarily remote with some on-site work required each month.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist with donor recognition projects through the year including the print annual review
• Review and prepare donor data to assess upcoming donor stewardship needs with the Major Gifts team
• Maintain an accurate listing of active proposals and funding needs
• Assist with stewardship projects to strengthen donor relationships
• Help facilitate book signings and VIP member mailings as needed
• Assist with formatting impactful proposals and reports for donors
• Help to maintain accurate departmental resources
• Ensure donor record integrity by keeping up-to-date notes of donor interactions and completed projects
• Maintain and expand knowledge of relevant departmental software in order to maintain efficiency
• Maintain a clear understanding of—and the ability to articulate—PETA's objectives as well as details about specific PETA programs
• Demonstrated interest in continued education as it pertains to donor relations and fund development overall
• Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor

• Experience and competence with Microsoft Office applications and database systems
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience working in a professional office environment
• Proven exceptional attention to detail
• Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to employ critical thinking for problem solving
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

The hourly pay range for this position is $15.80 - $19.55 per hour. The ultimate hourly pay within this range that will be offered to a qualified candidate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and the cost of living in the area in which the candidate will live and work.
