KSB has nearly 180 years of service whose mission is to provide comprehensive educational services to all Kentucky students who are blind and visually impaired, Kindergarten to age 21. KSB prides itself 4 helping all Kentucky students who are blind and visually impaired to develop their talents, their skills and attitudes to become confident, competent and independent adults.
Currently KSB has a vacant Dorm Program Supervisor for People with Disabilities in the Residential Section. As a Dorm Program Supervisor for People with Disabilities, you will coordinate and supervise the Residential Programs during the afternoon/evening shift at the Kentucky School for the Blind. This includes providing direct supervision to houseparents and students. Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office and Google Office apps is preferred.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide direct supervision of houseparents. Including training, changes in schedules and evaluations.
- Conduct meetings within individual units and assist houseparents with handling of student behavior.
- Work directly with students to provide counseling and resolving discipline problems.
- Assist with instruction of staff and students in the area of daily living skills.
- Provide coverage in the dorm when a houseparent is unavailable, providing houseparents with breaks throughout the shift.
- Submit a daily log. Update/maintain student/staff records. Attend staff meetings on program development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- This position will work second shift, 3:30 pm-11:30 pm, Sunday through Thursday. Shift differential pay is paid for second and third shift hours.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of experience working with persons with disabilities in an institutional setting.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree will substitute for the experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in an institutional setting dealing with persons with disabilities which would assure knowledge or skill with dormitory life problems (e.g., houseparents, dormitory counselors, etc.) will substitute for the education on a year for year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Incumbent typically works in a residential school dormitory setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
