As Drafter, you will be responsible for taking information obtained from specifications, sketches, customer drawings and instructions furnished by others and converting it into detailed drawings which include section views and dimensions. Additional responsibilities include assisting in a variety of tasks and assignments related to the planning, scheduling and executing of construction projects.

The person in this position will be based out of our Corporate Headquarters in Newton Grove, NC and will report to the Drafting Department Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.

• Create computerized drawings utilizing AutoCAD; maintain a high level of proficiency with latest releases and/or other professional software and technology that are deemed feasible for Hog Slat use.
• Perform a variety of mathematical calculations to insure that drawings are executed efficiently and within expected tolerances. Seek appropriate levels of approval and oversight to maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Utilize drawings and other information to create takeoffs, bills of material (B.O.M.), purchases orders, etc.
• Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by developing computerized solutions (formulas, spreadsheets, etc.) that will improve on current methods used for purchasing, scheduling, tracking and reporting.

SKILL/KNOWLDEDGE REQUIRED:
The ideal candidate will have the following experience/educational background:

• At least two years of experience designing buildings in AutoCAD
• Basic math skills
• Computer proficiency; Excel required
• Familiarity with or ability to learn/comprehend construction trade and hog/poultry industry applications
• Candidates must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record
