DEPARTMENT: Information & Educational Technology Services (IET Services)
POSITION TITLE: Educational Technology Specialist
SUPERVISOR: Chief Information Officer
PURPOSE: Primary responsibilities center on 1) faculty support for instructional design, and 2) implementation and administration of electronic academic resources for the campus including Moodle. Additional duties include general support for all educational technology on campus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary duty of this position is to support the teaching and learning experience at LSUA by enabling faculty to use various technologies in the classroom.
- Provide instructional design assistance to faculty utilizing technology in the classroom.
- Provide comprehensive training and technical support for electronic resources to the campus community.
- Update content on the LSUA website using a content management system.
- Provide support and technical assistance through the Department of IET Services including:
- Troubleshoot technical problems in labs, classrooms, or offices.
- Assist with set-up for presentations where multi-media equipment is requested.
- Manage the Course Management System.
- Manage all Compressed Video, Zoom/Teams meetings and classes.
- Provide student and faculty training for various software programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Technology, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, Instructional Design or comparable program required. Master’s Degree or work towards a Master’s Degree in comparable field of study is preferred. At least 2 years college or K-12 teaching experience. Applicant should be familiar with course management systems, have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to relate to and provide training to students, faculty and staff.
HOURS: Eight (8) hours per day, Monday –Friday 40 hours a week. Additional hours worked as needed.
