This position leverages interactions with customers to increase awareness of Energy Efficiency Programs (EEP) and help meet program goals and objectives; educate customers on program offerings; increase rebate completion rates; and provide financing options. Interactions will include participation in marketing and outreach events (i.e. information booths at home shows, festivals, community events, etc. including delivering presentations), effectively assisting on inbound and outbound calls, emails and other communications. This position fosters a positive image of Nicor Gas and the EEP Program.

This role:

  • Supports EEP Program Managers with their initiatives, such as outbound call campaigns and research.
  • Cross trains to learn all areas in Energy Efficiency.
  • Seeks and optimizes opportunities to support Customer Development and other key stakeholder areas through customer interactions.
  • Is an integral part in customer facing initiatives.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education, Certifications/Licenses:

Preferred: Associates or Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications or related discipline

Bilingual preferred

Related Work Experience:

Required: Six months general work experience

Preferred: Sales, Marketing, Community Outreach, Customer Centric Experience

OR any combination of education and work experience which permits the candidate to meet position work requirements.

Specific Skills & Knowledge:

Required: Strong presentation, communication, and written communication skills

Preferred: Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Salesforce, Smartsheet, PowerPoint

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Will be required to travel to events. Trips require driving within the Nicor Gas territory and Chicago area. This role involves attending indoor and outdoor events, which includes standing, carrying program materials, setting up booths, etc. There could be an occasional overnight stay required.

  • Will be required to use a personal vehicle to attend events, and to carry program materials which could include boxes of materials, pop-up tents, giveaways, etc. Employees are reimbursed for mileage beyond regular home to work mileage.
  • Will work in an office environment. Due to the nature of the role, employee may occasionally work beyond traditional business hours to meet deadlines or attend events as a company representative. Position requires the ability to work occasional weekends and evenings as necessitated with possible hybrid work opportunity.
