About Technology Services
The Technology Services Department (TS) of the City and County of Denver use state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies to deliver and improve the systems, applications, and operations to our customers. About the Infrastructure and Operations Management Division
The Infrastructure and Operations Management Division provides the engineering and maintenance of city technology infrastructure, data storage, and converged networks. The team is responsible for planning and implementing new infrastructure as well as ongoing maintenance and enhancements. The Operations team also provides voice system and end user device support, provides 911 Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) support to Denver 911, and manages communication and voice radio systems management for first responders and other city agencies.

As an IT Administrator I, you will work in the Electronic Engineering Bureau (EEB). The EEB maintains and manages numerous technology systems used by agencies throughout the City and County of Denver. EEB personnel are responsible for supporting the 911 Public Safety Radio System, Mobile Computer Terminals, Mobile and Portable radios, Speed Enforcement Radar, and in building amplifiers.
Additionally, as the EEB IT Administrator, you will:
- Perform a variety of specific administrative activities/projects, participate in the development of long range and short-term planning initiatives and serve as the liaison with other department officials and other outside agencies.
- Implement procedures for evaluating effectiveness of the EEB, ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies, and assists in establishing processes and controls to ensure compliance.
- Assist in the development and processing of contracts including participating in drafting RFP for contracts, evaluating proposals, and administering contracts for compliance and expenditures
- Act as a technical expert with P25 Radio system Policy and Procedures
- Coordinates with Metro Region for programming authorizations
- Asset Custodian for the Electronic Engineering Bureau
- Confer with user agencies to determine and document future communications requirements
- Assist in Continuity Plan (COOP) Planning
- Develop radio system reports and metrics as needed for Executive Leadership
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested
About You
We are looking for someone with some or all the following skills and experience:
- IT Administration experience
- Experience and full understanding of P25 radio system operations
- Radio Codeplug/template building for Kenwood, Harris, and Motorola Radios
- Administrative experience with Commshop 360
- Nokia Microwave MPR 9500 and 7705 SAR’s experience
- Knowledge of electronic repair and installation best practice
- Experience and Knowledge of Mobile Computer Terminals best practice
- Detailed Oriented
- ICS training

- Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field based on a specific position(s).
- Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of technical or administrative experience performing research and evaluation OR three years of experience performing technical and administrative duties within the related functional area. (Some positions may require experience in a specific area)
- Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
- Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
