Des Moines Public Schools is seeking an ELL Associate
Job Summary :
Support ELL teacher in the instruction and supervision of English Language Learners by helping prepare for materials and assist students academically at the Intensive English Language Centers (IELC). This position requires continuous use of independent judgment.
Successful candidates for this position will possess:
Bilingual (English and Fluent Spanish)
High School Diploma, HiSET or G.E.D.
One of the following: (1) 48 credit hours post-secondary education, or (2) associate’s degree or higher, or (3) paraeducator certification from Board of Educational Examiners, or (4) combined score of 150 or higher on the COMPASS test, or (5) a passing score on the AccuPlacer test.
Highly Qualified Candidates for the position will possess:
Bachelor’s Degree in education, student services, world language or related field.
Experience working with children and families with a refugee or immigrant background

Salary starting at $15.96
