DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to develop requirements and lead design for an upgrade to compressed air systems for the facility.
- Specify and procure equipment and design contracts.
- Contract and oversee construction of compressed air systems and ancillary systems.
- Specify replacements for pneumatic manifolds and compressed air distribution and lead technicians in assembly and installation. Become the primary technical resource for such.
- Support operation and troubleshooting of other systems and equipment within the group and supported by the group (water, compressed air, vacuum, and cryogenic systems).
- Develop and execute small expense projects for reliability improvements.
- Own and manage the preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and condition-based maintenance strategy for assigned equipment.
- Lead outage planning and execution.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis for incidents and equipment failure and implement corrective actions.
- Identify and resolve chronic mechanical asset concerns (bad actors).
- Perform mechanical integrity analysis of fixed equipment, piping, etc.
- Support site processes such as Process Hazard Analysis and Hazardous Work Authorizations.
- Develop and implement training and procedures for the operation, maintenance and repair of site assets.

Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a masters degree, or two or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- 4+ years of experience in industrial or large research facilities.
- Technical Knowledge of rotational, fixed, electrical and instrumentation equipment. Knowledge of compressed air, vacuum, cryogenic plant, and cooling systems preferred.
- Proven Experience in installation of mechanical equipment.
- Extensive working knowledge of ASME and construction codes.
- Strong written and Communication skills.
- Demonstrate excellent decision making skills and ability to prioritize appropriately.
- Requires the ability to walk, stand, bend, sit, stoop, use ladders, grasp, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Requires the use of senses in order to perform inspection, as normally defined by the ability to see, hear, smell, and handle / feel objects.
- Works in an industrial environment (noise, dust, heat) and areas with radiation monitoring programs; may require occasional work in confined spaces.
