Scope:

The Engineering Co-Op will perform various functions within different departments in our Stafford, CT division, supporting the manufacturing operations during the weekend shift by implementing process improvements. This position requires flexibility in order to meet weekend production goals.

Based upon successful work performance and attendance, the Co-Op Program is a progressive program for the student. To meet the needs of initial training, the Engineering Co-Op must be able to commit to a minimum of 12 hours per week for a period of 90 days.

Once the Engineering Co-Op has completed the initial training they will be assigned a minimum of three 12-hour weekend shifts per month based on the schedule listed below. This is a requirement to remain active in the program.

The work schedule for this role is Friday-Sunday from 7:00am - 7:00pm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learn how to run multiple pieces of equipment in the plating, drill and other departments as needed
- Identifies and records any quality problems, initiates, recommends, and provides solutions, verifies the implementation of solutions, and controls further processing delivery of nonconforming products until the deficiency has been corrected
- Ability to work as a team member in problem solving teams- looking for a positive, forward looking attitude
- Communicates regularly to the process engineering manager{s},
- Verify proper material and processes were followed according to standard operating procedures
- Maintains a clean, safe work environment, and communicates to supervisors’ safety hazards and issues
- Generates, accumulates, and handles hazardous wastes generated in daily operations, as directed by the Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager

Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to work 12 hours per shift
- Commit to at least one shift per weekend and three weekends per month
- Must be able to safely lift 35 – 50 lbs
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Have good reading vision, color discrimination, and hearing perception
Education and Experience:
Education:
- Current college student (sophomore or junior) pursuing a BA or BS in mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering or other related field approved by TTM
- Completion of at least 12 college credits. Transcripts will be requested to reflect amount of credits completed.
Export/ITAR Statement:
Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
