ENTRY LEVEL CHEMIST

Working Location- Norwalk, CT

King Industries is actively looking to hire an Entry Level Chemist within our Coatings Department. Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or other Science disciplines as well as willingness to work in a team environment.

1. Skills Required:

• Must be a self-starter and well organized.
• Ability to interact well with associates and supervisors.
• Good verbal and written communications and mathematics skills.
• Willingness to learn.

2. Education and Experience Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or other Science disciplines.
• Familiarity with classic wet chemical and instrumental techniques.
• Experience with computers and spreadsheets.

3. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analysis of raw materials, and in-process and final products for compliance with requirements.
• Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Maintaining and ordering laboratory supplies.
• Providing support in solving process problems and customer complaints.
• Assistance in developing and writing of departmental procedures, instructions, and test methods.
• Maintaining orderliness of laboratory and washing glassware as needed.
• Participation in company safety and other training programs.
• Miscellaneous job-related tasks as requested by supervisor.
• Participate in Company wide effort to promote quality assurance in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001.
• Maintain a general knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 requirements.
