Quality Assurance Officer

These are full-time positions with benefits including Paid-Time-Off (PTO), retirement plan, health insurance, plus short- and long-term disability. AEL Laboratories' business hours are 8 AM – 5 PM, with operational hours including 7 AM - 7 PM Monday through Friday. Workweeks could be 7 days a week, including holidays when needed.

We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Officer at our Miramar, FL, facility. This is a full-time position with benefits including Paid-Time-Off (PTO), retirement plan, and insurance. See instructions below on how to apply for this position. Relocation to Miramar FL available.

Requirements to be considered:

  • Must be excellent working with data entry on computer
  • Must have a neat, clean appearance and a customer-friendly personality
  • Must be a motivated worker willing lend a hand to others
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Requires attention to details and good documentation skills
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to speak, read, and write English fluently and have the ability to follow complex instructions
  • Must be able to lift 55 pounds
  • Must be willing to work weekends and overtime as needed
  • BS/BA in an area of scientific study is greatly preferred

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science field, preferably Biology, Microbiology, or Chemistry.
  • 3 years’ experience working in an environmental laboratory, certified by NELAC / TNI or equivalent testing water and soil using EPA methods.
  • If no degree, then must have over five years above experience.

Rate

$50,000 - $80,000 p/y, depending on experience

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of the laboratories Quality Assurance/Quality Control Program and works independent of the lab and act as the focal point for all QA/QC and responsible for oversight and review of QC data. Overall responsibilities include ensuring compliance with the TNI (NELAC) standards, ensuring continued accreditation for all analysis on the lab’s scope, maintenance of the PT program within the lab, maintenance of the NCF program within the lab. Some administrative responsibilities include scheduling audits, meeting regulatory deadlines, communicating with sister labs to clarify and resolve regulatory questions and issues, and training employees. Other responsibilities will be discussed during the interview.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, hear and talk. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and sit.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Working Conditions:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
