Provide support to the estimating department, responsible for preparing estimates as needed for projects, specifications, proposals, and other documentation. Performs data entry for accurate pricing.

The responsibilities would be:

- Review contracts to confirm scope of work

- Preparing takeoffs for residential and commercial projects

- Contact vendors for equipment quotes

- Download all project documents for new bids

- Prepare bid takeoffs as assigned

- Maintain bid folders organized and complete

- Track bids sent out

- Update estimating department spreadsheets

- Review all current pricing of material, equipment, and disposal costs

- Add project dates to calendar

- Miscellaneous tasks required by the Senior Project Managers, Owner & Vice President.

Qualifications/Experience:

- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel. We use Excel heavily for our bids.

- Contract and proposal knowledge

- Some knowledge of how HVAC systems work

- Some knowledge in reading construction blueprints

- Outstanding organization skills. We receive quotes, questions, invitations, etc for bids all throughout the day, time management and organization is key when dealing with multiple bids at one time.

- Attention to detail is very important.

- High school diploma, preferably someone with an associate’s degree.

- Good communication and writing skills. You will be communicating with General Contractors and Vendors by phone and email.
