• Must maintain a Missouri driver’s license.

Summary:
Responsible for handling automobile and boat insurance claims which includes: coverage analysis, investigation, estimating, appraising, negotiation, settlement, salvage, and subrogation. Adjudicates claims within assigned settlement authority and adheres to applicable laws, regulations, and company guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:* Conducts thorough inspections and appraisals of automobile and boat physical damage claims.

• Establishes, evaluates, and maintains individual case reserves in accordance with the Claims Department Reserving Philosophy.
• Evaluates coverage, gathers evidence and documentation, and determines whether coverage is applicable for assigned losses.
• Determines dollar amount of covered damages, and adjudicates the claim within authority level, and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company guidelines.
• Documents the claim file in a prompt, clear, and concise manner, with the facts gathered in the investigation.
• Reports status of all open claims to supervisor, as needed.
• Manages open claims by periodically reviewing status and working to conclusion.
• Inspects and qualifies repair facilities for the company Automobile Repair Network Program.
• Works closely with insureds, claimants, repair facilities, and experts as needed to estimate, appraise, and negotiate settlement of covered losses.
• Reviews and prepares subrogation demands and answers salvage questions.
• Assists with handling storm losses, as needed, to include setting up drive-thru estimating services.
• Assists with scene inspections to aid in determining liability.
• Stays abreast of current trends and latest technology relating to the auto body repair industry.
• Assists with training new agents, customer service representatives, and claims department personnel.
• Aids and assists County Farm Bureaus in the promotion of Farm Bureau Programs.
• Provides excellent customer service to all external and internal customers, and maintains good working relationships with field and Home Office personnel.

LOCATION:* Primary office location to be determined. This position will handle auto claims in the Southeast, MO area.
