Memphis Management Group is a small business in Memphis, TN. We are agile, fast-paced, customer-centric and our goal is to provide comprehensive management services to the Renasant Convention Center. This includes management, marketing, operations, and event booking. .
Our company is seeking an Event Manager to join our team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the logistics of large-scale events, such as trade shows and conventions with multiple sponsors and speakers. Working directly in conjunction with our sales team, the Event Manager will be responsible for the full spectrum of tasks related to the logistics of events, including planning, vendor management and budgeting.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage event programs.
- Create detailed event calendars and schedules.
- Coordinate logistics for events.
- Propose creative ideas for events.
- Manage risk.
Additional Information:
· Point of contact for meetings, conferences, and special events ensuring requirements are met and service expectations are exceeded, including event & room layout, timeline, event personnel and special requests.
· Creates and distributes required paperwork to communicate client requirements to appropriate venue departments.
· Coordinates with set up staff, operations and all departments, outside contractors, third-party vendors, concessionaires, etc. during events to ensure that requirements are fully addressed and executed.
· Collaborates with Director of Events identifying event goals, including service and financial goals, communicating ongoing opportunities and challenges.
· Manages events and performs as venue Manager on Duty, with other members of the management team as may be required.
· Ensures venue rules, regulations, policies and procedures are enforced.
· Supervises event services staff and coordinates all personnel related to the event to include ushers, ticker takers, security personnel, police officers, fire inspectors, and EMTs at events in the venue.
· Understands importance of maintaining a spirit of accessibility with clients, executive management team, and event staff through use of cell phone and email communication, potentially outside of office hours or event schedule days.
· Anticipates problems and appropriate solutions, investigates, analyses, and resolves operational problems and complaints.
· Demonstrates effectiveness in motivation, appreciation, and feedback with event staff.
· Familiarized with all emergency procedures and able to respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues.
· Observes and reports facility repairs, maintenance, and safety issues as necessary.
· Maintains safe, secure, and sanitary working conditions and leave work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
· Abides by all MMG policies in the Human Resources Policies and Procedures Manual.
· Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
