The Events Project Manager will be based in Wichita, Kansas and will support and report to our Marketing Manager. A frequent amount of cross-continental travel is required (15-25%).

In your role, you will:
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the event coordinators responsible for trade shows, static displays, industry/customers events, launch events, PR events.
  • Manage events from start to finish, working with a dedicated internal team. As the primary point of contact for events, you will primarily coordinate with various company stakeholders, sales and marketing teams and conference exhibitors.
  • Work to attract diverse and top talent into our business.
  • Be a self-starter with strong project managements skills, who can execute flawless events and support Employer Brand strategic objectives.
  • Provide ongoing administrative support related to tradeshows/events budgets to include invoice filing, SAP reports and master event filing systems
  • Coordinate and validate shipments and related communications: collateral lists, shipping list/ memos
  • Create purchase requests (clerical) for key suppliers and researches new suppliers
  • Oversee props and giveaway inventory
  • Oversee return shipments – return material to internal people/ replacing stock (verifying condition)
  • Be responsible for the event website
  • Gather & populate information
  • Manage attendee registration list [with input from Marketing Strategy team] to ensure partners/suppliers are properly categorized, capture any “false” registrations, resolve classification conflicts, etc
  • Monitor & manage the customer events website inbox – on a daily basis – escalating issues
  • Be able to learn and navigate through internal Bombardier processes – ie finance, shipping etc.
  • Make decisions on logistics
  • Work with team members to gain knowledge and learn processes.
  • Network within the team and extended organization to achieve day-to-day goals
  • Deal mainly with suppliers and internal Bombardier departments, ie finance, shipping.
  • Organize day-to-day activities.
  • Juggle a number of tasks independently while prioritizing efforts.
  • Keep team members and other stakeholders informed.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate,
  • You have 2 – 5 years of relevant experience in Marketing or Event Management.
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or equivalent experience in related field.
  • You have strong organizational, time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to prioritize and support a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have a proven ability to successfully coordinate multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • You are a flexible, self-starter who can autonomously move multiple projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • You can work independently as well as part of a cross functional marketing.
  • You can take informed, balanced, autonomous decisions when necessary.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and professional presence necessary to interact with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders.
  • You are skilled at managing multiple stakeholders across different time zones.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Computer skills necessary to operate Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc) as well as e-mail and other software and web based applications.
  • You are proficient in English (written and spoken), other languages would be an asset.
  • You have the ability to travel 15-25% of the time if needed.
  • You portray characteristics of leadership, perseverance, entrepreneurship and innovation skills.
