Summary

  • Exercise Coordinator will work closely with USAF personnel to lead the planning, development and execution of Live, Virtual & Constructive (LVC) Distributed Mission Operations at the USAF’s DMOC, Kirtland AFB, NM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The exercise coordinator (EC) will function as the contractor lead/co-lead to the government on the development cycle for joint and coalition exercises.
  • The EC will link Live, Virtual and Constructive DMO sites into a synthetic training Network environment.
  • The exercise coordinator is responsible for managing the exercise development process, coordinating with participating sites, monitor exercise material development, merging warfighter training requirements with overall exercise objectives and managing the exercise during execution.
  • Perform exercise coordination in a distributed mission operations (DMO) synthetic environment, work scenario development, event planning and exercise execution for theater level exercises, vignettes and warfighter focused events. Coordinate with multi major weapons systems across joint services and coalition partners to construct a Live, Virtual and Constructive exercise enabling warfighter training both locally and through various distributive networks. The EC will organize mission planning and coordination with 705 Combat Training Squadron (CTS) project officers and the designated exercise director to formulate a viable exercise plan to meet warfighter training objectives.
  • The EC must be capable of formulating courses of action to develop training scenario events that support theater specific training and are tailored to warfighter needs, objectives and formal training requirements. The EC will interface with Virtual participants both on operational and tactical levels events to ensure mission objectives are obtainable for each segment of the exercise.
  • The EC will provide guidance, recommendations and support to the 705 CTS for enabling a reasonable training exercise that allows productive training for all warfighter participants. The EC will be required to balance the needs of all players with a realistic venue representative of today’s battlefields.
  • The EC will provide mission commander level leadership and direction to a team of contractor and military personnel. The EC will schedule meetings, coordinate system integration and organize mission planning to successfully host major exercises at the DMOC with worldwide connections.
  • EC should be familiarity with mission training simulators, understand joint and coalition service interactions and capable of working with combat related software/hardware for mission planning and exercise development.
  • Facilitates coordination between government, engineering and operational personnel, ensuring requirements are communicated, designed and designed into the exercise scenario.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Master’s Degree and 3 years relevant operational experience or bachelor’s degree and 5 years relevant operational experience or equivalent combination of education and related operational experience
  • Military service experience conducting mission skill sets
  • The individual must possess a dynamic and flexible understanding of problem solving.
  • The individual will need to maintain technical relevance within their area of expertise
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the Department of Defense’s requirements for DMO within current military operations.
  • Incumbent must possess Secret security clearance with SCI and SAP/SAR eligibility
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Preferred Skills

  • An operational w/in past 5 years
  • DMO experience working with Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) assets
  • Conversant with computer generated forces, the build process and environment generators
  • Familiar with the following DMO Environment generators (EG):
    • Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE)
    • Next Generation Threat System (NGTS)
    • Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF)
    • Distributed Interactive Constructive Environment (DICE)
    • Joint Conflict Tactical Simulation (JCATS)
  • Familiar with:
    • Modeling and Simulation (M&S)
    • Distributed Mission Operations (DMO)
    • Familiar with Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) and High Level Architecture (HLA).

Language Skills

  • Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Will be required to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints.

Reasoning ability

  • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • An ability to interpret customer requirements from verbal, non-verbal, and written formats.

Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
